On the weekend of the 9/10th of November, ULBC sent nine athletes to Boston for the season’s first U23/FISU/Senior trial.

On the Saturday triallists completed their 2k ergo tests in Boston whilst the rest of the ULBC squad did the same at home. With 30+ PBs across the squad, this was the start of a successful weekend!

The trialists then faced the Sunday water trial; 5k in small boats down the river Witham. ULBC boated four women’s singles, two men’s singles, and three men in pairs (one in composite with CUBC). All crews placed well in their age group categories, most notably captain Jessie Martin placing 4th U23, and David Wallace placing 10th U23 strokeside. It was also great to see so many recent ULBC alumni racing at this trial.

These trialists (and a handful with medical exemptions from this trial) are hoping to gain selection in U23, FISU, and senior GB crews in the summer.
