Results day is upon us!
If you have been accepted to your choice of UL course, congratulations! Please make sure you are in contact with the outgoing or incoming captains (Georgie/Jessie- womencaptain@ulbc.co.uk or Ferdi/George- menscaptain@ulbc.co.uk) to let them know you’re going to be joining us next term and to make sure you don’t miss important start of season information!
If you haven’t quite got your grades and haven’t been accepted into your choice of course, you still have options! Many members of ULBC past and present have been through clearing to change course completely, or to apply for a new course that was similar or the same as their original choice, just at a different institution.
If you did get better grades than you expected, you might also be looking to go through clearing to apply for a course that you thought you wouldn’t reach the requirements for!
To tackle clearing UCAS have put together a very useful page of information to help answer some questions. Each of the UL institutions might have slightly varying processes so it’s important to follow the process on each individual clearing page, but this generally involves calling a clearing hotline to discuss your options. It’s useful to have your UCAS number on hand when you do this.
It is fairly common for a university to offer clearing places with slightly lower grade requirements than originally advertised in order to fill spaces so it’s always worth a call to their clearing hotlines to ask if they’d give you an offer! It’s worth noting that many unis have already published lists of courses with clearing spaces available, however check again on Thursday as they’re often updated then.
Please get in contact with any (or all) of our incoming and outgoing captains on the day if you need help finding a course, or are torn between a few and want to discuss courses/different institutions.
