25 Jul WORLD ROWING UNDER 23 CHAMPIONSHIPS – UL athletes win GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE
UL athletes have returned from the World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria with GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE medals, along with further A final placings.
Patrick SULLIVAN (UCL) and Josh KENT (UCL), selected as stern pair of the Great Britain Men’s Coxed Four, raced to a fantastic SILVER medal on Saturday afternoon, over hauling the USA in the sprint for the line.
A fantastic afternoon for ULBC athletes at the World Rowing U23 Championships! Patrick Sullivan and Josh Kent took SILVER in the GB M4+. And an hour later Charlotte Hodgkins-Byrne was asked to sub into the GB W4x from the W8+, and then won GOLD. #purplepride #worldchampion #gold #silver #studentathletes #universityoflondon
Charlotte HODGKINS-BYRNE (Royal Holloway) was selected in the GB Women’s Eight. But an illness in the GB Women’s Quad on Saturday morning meant her being asked to sub into the 4x. The crew lead from start to finish in the A final, and Hodgkins-Byrne and her crew mates were croweded U23 World Champions.
