25 Jan QUINTIN HEAD – UL races for the first time in 2018
The University of London will race for the first time in 2018 at this weekend’s Quintin Head, held on the Tideway from Chiswick Bridge to Harrods Depository
ULBC last raced in Newcastle at the end of November, coming away with dominant victories in both the Men’s and Women’s Eights against Newcastle, Edinburgh and Durham Universities. Quintin Head offers some more local competition in the form of Cambridge University, and Thames RC and Molesey Boat Club.
A total of 29 eights from the Univeristy of London, containing over 260 students, will race this Saturday, with 8 of the 18 UL colleges entering crews along side the 7 ULBC crews racing in purple. UCL, LSE, King’s College London, St. Georges, the Royal Veterinary College, Queen Mary and the hospital boat clubs of Barts and RUMS are all entered.
ULBC supporters will be gathering from 11AM on the terrace at the White Hart Pub (next to Barnes Bridge) to view the race. All alumni and family & friends of current athletes are invited to join. (For exact location click here). The race starts at 11:30AM.
