The University of London Boat Club is one of the UK’s most successful university rowing programmes, with 45 Henley Royal Regatta (HRR) wins, representation at every Olympic Games since 1960 and 212 ULBC athletes have been selected for U23 and Senior World Championship teams, winning 135 Olympic & World Championship medals. Most recently at HRR the UL Men made the final of the Temple in 2017 and the final of the Visitors’ in 2018 and semi-final of the Prince Albert.
The UL Men’s Squad continuously achieve high placings and medals at all the top national events. The Heavyweights and Lightweights train together, with the Lightweights winning the LW Eight at BUCS Regatta from 2012-14. A UL Men’s Eight has raced in China in 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 at the International Universities Race.
ULBC has also been one of the highest contributors to the U23 GB Rowing Team over the past few years, with two UL men winning Silver Medals at the World Under 23 Championships in 2017 and one winning Silver in 2018.
ULBC is a designated High Performance Program for GB Rowing and offers a challenging and enjoyable environment for rowers to achieve their goals, whether that be winning a medal at BUCS or racing at an Olympic Games.
