The University of London Boat Club will take on novice rowers if they have previous experience of competing in a sport to a high level or are of exceptional height and/or strength, who we believe can be fast tracked to competing at a national or even international level in rowing.

If you would like to learn to row but perhaps don’t match the above criteria then we would encourage you to contact the boat club for your University of London college, to experience the sport and take your first steps in it.

Previous ULBC novice rowers have gone on to win at Henley Royal Regatta, the highest level of competition within the UK. One of these rowers, Paul Bennett, then went on to become a World Champion and in 2016 was crowned Olympic Champion.

If you want to be part of a sporting environment designed for people to fulfill their potential then the University of London Boat Club is for you.  We strive for excellence through rowing and believe that by pushing yourself to be the best in rowing you will be the best in all areas of your life.
