This weekend the University of London Boat Club (ULBC) takes to the water for the first time in 2017, racing Quintin Head, leading off both the Men’s and Women’s Elite categories.

Quintin Head opens a busy winter racing schedule for ULBC, which includes fixtures with Oxford and Cambridge, BUCS Head, GB Trials and then HORR & WEHORR. The UL Men’s 1st Eight goes off number 1, leading the Elite category. And the UL Women’s 1st Eight starts number 66, leading off the Women’s division and Elite category. There are a further three UL Men’s Eights entered, starting numbers 14, 31 and 39, and the UL Women’s 2nd Eight starts number 132.

A total of 28 eights with over 250 students from the Univeristy of London will race this weekend, with 8 of the 18 UL colleges entering crews along side the 6 ULBC crews racing in purple. UCL, LSE, King’s College London, St. Georges, the Royal Veterinary College, Queen Mary and the hospital boat clubs of Barts and RUMS are all entered.

ULBC supporters will be gathering from 12 noon on the terrace at the White Hart Pub (next to Barnes Bridge) to view the race. All alumni and family & friends of current athletes are invited to join. (For exact location click here). The race starts at 12:15PM.

ULBC returned in early January from winter training camp in Avis, Portugal, one of the World’s best rowing locations. See below for some of the outstanding video taken on the camp.
