1. ULBC aims and objectives

ULBC has a long and successful history of producing high performing athletes and crews, at both national and international levels. ULBC has produced more than 100 athletes who have gone on to represent Great Britain at either the World Rowing Championships or the Olympic Games and even more who have represented their country at Under 23 level. In addition ULBC has competed successfully for more than 50 years in domestic events, winning at least one event at Henley Women’s Regatta (HWR) every year for the last 10 years and is the second most successful club in the history of Henley Royal Regatta (HRR).

ULBC’s strategic objectives are to continue this successful path and be one of the most successful rowing clubs in Great Britain. Key elements to us achieving this are:
• To continue to get our athletes selected for the Olympic and World Championship squads on an annual basis
• To become (once again) the largest single contributor to the Under 23 team
• To win regularly at HRR and HWR and to be amongst the top domestic competitors at the Head of the River Race (HORR) and the Women’s Head of the River Race (WHORR)

To facilitate this, we aim to build on our long heritage as a premier rowing centre and:
• Develop ourselves into the premier student rowing centre in London – leveraging the resource pool presented by the large student population in the capital
• Open our facilities to non-students who can help us achieve our objectives
• Strive for excellence in the organisation and management of ULBC – using as our benchmark successful professional organisations and ensuring we optimise the use of the assets available to us
